Mateusz Gamrot (23-2) gets the win over Rafael Fiziev (12-3) after he suffered an apparent left knee injury in the 2^nd round of the UFC Fight Night main event on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Neveda.

Fiziev was injured when he planted his left leg oddly and threw a right body kick to Gamrot. The fight was stopped immediately and Fiziev needed assistance leaving the UFC octagon.

With this victory under unfortunate circumstances, Gamrot was not estactic, but he insisted he would move on. Gamrot was the 7^th ranked lightweight in the UFC before the fight, so with this he could jump into the top five of the division and become one step closer to a world title opportunity.

In the co-main event, Bryce Mitchell (16-1) returned to the UFC octagon after a near year layoff to defeat Dan Ige (17-7) by unanimous decision. This victory puts Mitchell back on track, after his 16-fight winning streak was snapped by Ilia Topuria in his last outing on December 10, 2022.

Mitchell was the 10^th ranked fight in the UFC featherweight rankings, therefore this victory should lift him into fighting the elite of the division.

Elsewhere on the UFC Fight Night main card, Marina Rodriguez (17-3) defeated Michelle Waterson-Gomez (18-12) via 2^nd round TKO. Bryan Battle (10-2) was victorious over AJ Flecther (10-3) via 2^nd round submission (Rear-Naked Choke). Charles Jourdain (15-6) earned a 1^st round submission finish via Guillotine Choke against Ricardo Ramos (16-5) .
